Rising methionine prices in world markets

Rising prices of methionine in different countries have increased the cost of poultry production.
Experts believe that issues such as logistical problems resulting from the outbreak of COVID-19 and the increase in demand in some countries following concerns about the outbreak of the second wave of the disease have caused the price of this product to rise.
Experts believe that due to the increase in the price of products such as methionine, the price of poultry feed has also increased significantly. This issue, especially for countries that export poultry products, can lead to reduced demand in target markets and create many problems for companies.
However, according to estimates, the global market value of methionine is expected to reach more than $ 5 billion by 2026. It should be noted that the value of this market in 2018 was only $ 3.5 billion.
Commentators believe that the annual compound growth rate-CAGR-of this product during the period 2019 to 2026 will be 5.1 percent.
Methionine is one of the essential amino acids for poultry. This amino acid is the main source of methyl groups for the organism in the chicken body and there is almost no substitute for it.
