The Chinese seem to be trying to increase their chicken meat production.
Estimates suggest that chicken meat production in the country will increase by more than 8% in 2020 compared to last year.
Some experts believe that the severe impact of African swine fever on the country’s animal protein industry has led policymakers to focus more on producing products that produce higher speeds.
It seems that the reduction in the price of some components of production in China, such as day-old chicken, has also influenced such a decision.
On the other hand, the increase in production has caused the price of chicken meat in China to fall to the level of 2017.
According to published statistics, the country imported more than 530,000 tons of poultry meat in 2019. This is while the import of this country during 2008 was only 130 thousand tons.
Meanwhile, some believe that restoring production in the pork sector may reduce production in this sector.
It remains to be seen when Chinese producers will be able to restore the country’s pork industry, given that African swine fever is still rampant in many parts of the world.
