Chicken meat prices fall in China

Chicken prices in China have fallen by more than 50 percent compared to the same period last year.

Published data on the price of chicken meat in China confirm that the price of this product in October this year fell by 57% compared to the same period last year.

Studies show that Chinese officials are working to restore the country’s pork industry, which has been embroiled in the ASF in recent months. The shortage of pork in this country had led to an increase in the consumption of chicken.

But with the ever-improving conditions of pig farming in the country, pork has once again made its way to the Chinese table.

On the other hand, the incidence and prevalence of COVID-19 have reduced consumption and, consequently, the price of chicken meat in China.

Finally, studies of the chicken market in Asian countries, especially China, confirm that these countries are facing an oversupply of chicken meat.
